Weekend Fun!

Good Afternoon,

I had a lovely weekend, it was busy yet relaxing if that makes sense. Which means I managed to get things done but at my own pace.

Friday night was the start of Strictly Come Dancing (you will discover I am a huge fan sorry!) so it was a easy dinner and than a glass of fizz to start the new series off.

Saturday dawned a lovely sunny Autumn day, hubbie and pickle popped up the town which give me a chance for a sneaky cup of tea in bed to start the day.
I managed to get loads of washing done and put pickles summer clothes away and got the winter/autumn clothes out.

I just want to mention something, I know over the last few months, I have posted about feeling poorly, I have been diagnosed with IBS, but am still in pain and am in the process of going for further tests, just wanted to let you know in case you thought goodness she is always poorly!

Anyway onto nicer topics and Saturday night we visited friends for the girls to catch up and the men to watch the Rugby, said friend was very happy with the wrist warmers I made, what was good news.

Sunday was another lovely sunny day, pickle enjoyed getting the garden, I managed to cut some of the last summer blooms
The tree is so full of berries, I love the brightness of the blue sky behind.

As always no weekend goes by without some baking, these are apple and cinnamon cupcakes and chocolate marble cakes, waiting to be iced.

I am so into Roast dinners at the moment, here is our lamb and tatties..

I have joined the Spice of Life CAL, my first one and I am really enjoying it, here is part 2 finished. Can't wait for Tuesday go start the next part.

Will that's it from me for now, hope you all had a nice weekend! thanks so much for the comments and stopping by!

Five on Friday

Good Afternoon,

I can't believe it's Friday again, but I am pleased.  It's been a busy week, Pickle had a school trip on Wednesday so that was a long day, then Choir on Thursday morning.

Autumn is well on the way now in my part of the world, each morning on the way to school we have a brief conker hunt, the leaves are falling off the trees and the ones left are changing to all pretty colours.

I received a very beautiful gift in the post this week, all the way from USA as part of the Tea Cup exchange more on this next month, and I have sent mine off to the USA.

As I have not been feeling great this week, I am looking forward to a restful weekend.

Anyway on the subject in hand, I am joining Amy at Love made my Home and sharing my Five on Friday!

1. Hubbie came home yesterday with some bunches of Chrysanthemum or 'MUMS' as I have seem them referred too.

2.  I have finished the wrist warmers for my friend, just hope she likes them.

3. We had the first stew of the Autumn yesterday, I think I can say pickle enjoyed it!

4. This is the churchyard in our town, the holly bushes are in full bloom.

5. And it will soon be time for the Halloween displays, yay can't wait.

I am so excited about today, as Strictly Come Dancing is back big smiles! I just love it, this time of year all the programmes I like, Strictly. Downton, Mr Selfridge..

Well I hope you all enjoyed my Five on Friday and have a nice weekend, catch up again soon

Tuesday Thoughts!

Good Afternoon,

Well it was a very sunny weekend here, but now it's back to rain, rain and more rain!

Friday was a Autumn feeling evening so I thought it's time for lighting our candle fireplace...

I also love to have scented candles around, here is my newest Yankee Candle.

So Saturday, I did my hour on the radio, I really enjoyed it and it went far too quickly,  the Arts Festival and radio is now finished for another year :((

We went to the outdoor concert on Sunday, which was folk music, it was lovely sitting in the late summer sunshine and enjoying the music and a glass of red wine.

So that's it for my weekend really,

So the part 2 of the Spice for Life CAL is released today, and can't wait to get started :))

Hope you all had a nice weekend , thanks again for your comments.

Festival Radio, Spice for Life CAL and Autumn!

Good Morning,

It's lovely and sunny today, which is a nice change from all the wind and rain of the last few days.

Well the Festival is still going, and hubbie is on the radio tonight playing Classic Rock music, you can listen online though this link HailshamFM.  So last night was setting the play list!

And on Saturday from 12.00-1.00pm it will be me on the radio, feeling nervous but I am sure it will be fun.

I am slowly getting back into the school run routine, and pickle is back to Guitar lessons and Choir, so it's busy in our house at the moment, hopefully it will calm down soon.

I have joined my first CAL (Crochet A Long) which is being organised by Sandra at Cherry Heart, if you haven't already joined in, than click the link above.  It's to make a Spice of Life blanket.  I can't wait to get started my wool has arrived!

Well there are berries appearing everywhere..this is the tree at work!
Which means only one thing..Autumn is on it's way..

So excited as Downton Abbey is back on this weekend! and Strictly Come Dancing next weekend, I love this time of year, all my favourite programmes come back on. YAY.

So I baked some cupcakes last night (no pictures yet) they are vanilla and Pumpkin Spice, which means with the left over pumpkin, I feel a Pumpkin pie baking session coming on.hmmm yummy.
The cupcakes are for the radio, hubbie will be taking them in later.

Have a nice day..thanks for stopping by and for all the lovely comments.

Tuesday Thoughts!

Good Afternoon,

It's been very wet and windy here today...The wellies are back!

I am in middle of crocheting some wrist warmers for a friend who broke both of her wrists, to help keep them warm in the colder months ahead.

I went to start a hat for pickle yesterday to discover I didn't have the right size circular needles:( so they are now on order as my local yarn shop didn't have them either, but while in the yarn shop I couldn't help buying some more yarn...

And I also couldn't resist this orange fabric to make some fabric pumpkins, and some small scissors something I have been trying to buy for ages but always forget when I go in the shop due to all the wool and fabric!

Just to jump back to the weekend, the Arts Festival is still going and hubbie and me will be on the radio this week/weekend (scary). Anyway Sunday we went to a local wine bar and listened to a friend play Cajun music, they are called Cajun Dawgs, we had a very good time.

Well I have way to many WIP in my fabric and wool bags, I really need to just plod on with them. Wrist Warmers first I think!

Hope you all have a nice week
