Tuesday Thoughts

Good Afternoon,

Been absent again due to illness!, hope everyone is well...

It's colder now and I have to say tights and jumpers are out and being worn, now there is no turning back.

Well managed to finish my new patchwork cushion covers for Autumn..

I am so pleased with them, and they will go perfectly in our lounge.

Mittens the cat has been as cheeky as ever, she has grown so much..

While I was feeling unwell at the weekend, I managed some more rows of my Cupcake blanket, I find this so relaxing as it's only tow different kinds of stitches.

Halloween is coming to the shops at the moment, I don't like all this Clown business going on, I have to say!, which when I read about people jumping out on people, make my worry.

I am looking forward to a breakaway to our favourite spot and seeing this view again soon...

It's time to spend together as a family and relax.

Happy 1 year birthday!

Good Afternoon,

I have been blogging for a year now! I can't believe how quick it's gone, and I am so enjoying being part of the blogland and meeting loads of fellow homemakers, crafters, knitters, bakers etc and being able to share with people who like and enjoy the same things.

So tonight I have prepared Stew - first one of the season and cannot wait.  Planning on a quiet weekend as not feeling so good.  I have finished my friends wrist warmers - photos to come tomorrow.

Pickle has now put in an order for orange ones with bright edges, so oh well if I must...:)

Summer Holidays 2015

Good Afternoon,

Well there is only a couple of weeks left of Summer holidays here in the UK.

The weather has been hit and miss as usual for our small island...I have to say sorry for being offline over the past few weeks, this is due to trying to manage working full time and summer holiday childcare...

As normal I wake up in mid July in a panic about the 6 weeks, and than at the end think what was I worrying about :))

I have managed to have at least 1 day off a week to spend time with pickle...

Last Friday we went to Brighton for the day, one of our favourite holiday days out!..we went down the Lanes, Choccywoccydoodah, Lego shop, H & M, Cath Kidston and Molton Brown.. and lunch was had at Jamie's Italian which I really love.

This is shop is so great, it's down the Lanes, but everything in it is made out of Chocolate---yummy!

Jamies is great as they offer all their Pasta meals Gluten Free..and the ice cream is so good.

We had some bad weather days, so board games came into play..me and pickle really enjoyed this time. With a glass of fizz for me.

I even managed to find sometime to do some crochet - I am making a granny square blanket for the lounge in the winter.

And finally pickle wanted to make jam.. so blackberry jam in the making!

So Monday we went to Paradise Park and I forgot to take any pictures.. then it was back to work, pickle is visiting Nanny and Grandad at the seaside..

Mittens decided one morning that she wanted to come to work with me!

Tuesday Thoughts!

Good Morning,

Well pickle finishes school tomorrow, and at present I am feeling mixed about Summer holidays...
I look forward to the following things:

Not having to rush pickle around in the mornings for School run

Sunshine .....please let it be a sunny break this year

Eating Ice cream...yummy

Playing in  the garden, swingball is always a winner in our house

Watering the flowers

Walking on the dew grass on a warm summer morning and enjoying my first cup of tea outside

Days out...

Strawberries and Summer food...in the garden or at the beach.

I don't like the panic of arranging childcare, as I work full time, I have to make sure pickle is covered and this makes me sad sometimes, thinking of her not with us... but it does mean the time I do have off is spent purely doing fun stuff together.. like a girlie trip to Brighton, or meeting up with friends from Post natal days.

I am sure it will all work out, as it does every year!

Here are some pictures that I took at the weekend, we had plan on visiting my mum, who live right on the beach, but pickle had a bug so had to cancel it :((

Summer Garden Fun and My 100 post!!

Good Afternoon,

Well I can't believe this is my 100 blog post, I thought I would never even get to 20!

This weekend was lovely again, so most of the time spent in the garden.  I do love getting outside in the summer months, games in the garden, BBQ and fresh air.

The garden is starting to look pretty with colour, which is a miracle as we are not the most green fingered family.

Here are some pictures...

 Since picking up Mittens from her holiday at the cattery, she seems much more relaxed and we have introduced her to the outdoors, I really cannot go though another summer with all the doors and windows closed!, so she has really taken to going outdoors, and this her in the garden.

The other side to this, is that she thinks she can get out from whatever window, she is officially down to seven lives, after jumping/falling from upstairs windows, hmmmm

Don't worry she is fine, just wish she would learn.

So the paddling pool is now a permanent fixture in the garden. Well for as long as the warm weather continues.

Here is pickle enjoying a lolly in the garden, note the pink chairs they have all now been painted and have added some more colour to our garden.

Tuesday Sunshine!

Good Afternoon,

Well the sun is out and shining brightly which is nice, I have not been feeling very well and am awaiting further tests, so there maybe breaks in my blogging.

Happier things, well Hubbie treated me on Valentines day, with some lovely flowers and wine!

It was sunny on Sunday, so Mittens was happy stretching out on the sofa, I have never seen a cat layout like Mittens...

It's half term, so I had Monday off with pickle, I took her swimming and than out on her scooter in the afternoon.

Sally the sewing machine is coming along nicely, I have cleaned and oiled her and I managed to work out the bobbin and treading the 1930's Singer, and I got to stitch for the first time on Sunday.

It's cold today!

Good Afternoon,

My word it was cold today and thick frost this morning, I thought I would just share with you these Daffodils from last spring that grow in my garden...

We got a new hamster - he is called Smokie, due to being grey and white, and very fluffy, the cat thinks it's her new toy!¬!

I have lost my tumble dryer :(( and am waiting to order a new one, so our house has turned into a Laundry! not good with the cold weather.

Mittens is getting bigger by the day, and is very cheeky.

I think the green eyes say it all!

It's Friday!

Good Afternoon,

Well it's Friday! and it's suddenly gone very dark here in Sussex, UK, we had a snow shower yesterday evening but it only lasted a couple of minutes.

I thought I would share some pictures with you that I have managed to download from my Camera Yay!

Mittens just keeps getting more and more crazy, I think it's time to let her out this weekend!

I have been crocheting granny squares for the Beware make a Square - for Meningitis Now, here is my latest one!

Hubbie brought me some lovely spring tulips the other day, they made the lounge look more colourful. I am still waiting for daffodil's to arrive in the shops here:((

So shopping is order for tomorrow, I never enjoy the supermarket experience, and I am looking forward to reading the latest Country Living magazine, I enjoyed last months, as it had about Lewes in it, which is close to me and it's such a lovely town to roam around and enjoy variety of independent shops.

I really must get reacquainted with this...

I will keep dreaming of my own craft room,.... maybe one day!

Mittens has found a new home!!!

So the tree is up for how long?

that depends on mittens.

Had a nice meal out with mums, husbands and kids on saturday night.

Kitten Smitten!

Happy Tuesday!

Well I am very happy it's dry today, after being soaked though yesterday and having wet shoes from 8.30am - 6.30pm, not a happy bunny!

Now as you know we have had Mittens the kitten for about 4 months now, and I cannot believe how big she is and how cheeky..

Before we brought her home - 8 weeks old

And this is her now- she is getting bigger by the day.

She is often found spread out like this until she slides off, mid sleep and gets very cross, as if someone has pushed her off:))

I must admit I do fear for my Christmas decorations this year, me thinks a small real tree upstairs with the glass baubles on. (any excuse for another christmas tree)

So I started making these slippers for pickle before we even got Mittens, they have taken awhile to do, as it's been a project I keep stopping and starting but here they are----

I am very happy with them, I hope pickle will be come Christmas!
