Weekend Fun!

Good Afternoon,

Well I had a nice weekend, it was emotional to be fair but that was to be expected.

We set off to Brighton for my late friends daughter's birthday, there was lots of laughing and fun, They went to Build a Bear, which was chaos to say the least but bears where stuffed, named and clothes brought.

Then it was off to lunch at Bella Italian, which was really nice the girls had fun, dressing the bears, eating pasta and lots of chocolate for pudding.

This little girl is a true inspiration of strength, it's just so amazing!

We made a quick stop off at Choccywoccydoodah, which most of them had not been to before and loved seeing all the things made out of chocolate including this huge easter egg - £10,000 to buy!

I made some chocolate cupcakes for her birthday, and to give to her friends.
It's safe to say they had a good time, obviously one person was very missed indeed.

I came home to find hubbie had done the housework and the glow of candles filled the room.

On Sunday I chilled out doing cupcakes for us, sewing, crochet and making roast dinner.

I have been sewing Easter bunnies, which I will post on tomorrow, and crocheting my second blanket.

I hope you all had a nice weekend!

Spring is here!

Good Afternoon,

Well it been such a spring like weekend, lot's of Sunshine...Daffdils everywhere.

We had a family lunch out on Saturday which was nice, as it meant pickle got to see her Nanny, Auntie and Cousin, we went to Prezzo which is an italian here in the UK.  It was nice, I had pasta with prawns, no photo's I am sad to say.

That was pretty much Saturday, seeing family and enjoying time together, laughing and joking.

Sunday dawned another bright spring like day, and I had promised pickle to take her out on her bike... however on getting the bike out of the garage for the first time this year, the front tyre was flat, hubbie to the rescue!, so after little bit of gardening we managed to go out for about an hour...

After this we had Sunday Roast Beef with Yorkshire puddings and veg all yummy, and I even managed to bake banana bread a favourite in our house and a great way to use up bananas that have seen better days...

This is my slice I am about eat with a cup of tea.

I have to share with you all, our love of Nutella, and look at the size of this jar, we got it from Lidl, we just love the stuff, pickle has it on her banana bread today!

Well I do really hope spring is here to stay now...I do not want any return of winter... I will be putting up my Easter decorations soon, so more bunnie posts to follow....

Have a nice Monday, and catch up in a couple of days...

Mother's Day and Birthday weekend!

Good Afternoon,

It's a been a little while but I was away for the weekend, it was my birthday on Sunday as well as Mother Day which has never happened before, so we thought we would have a long weekend away.

We stayed in Three Oaks, in Sussex and very nice Caravan and had the best time!

We arrived on Friday, to free sweet table in the clubhouse with popcorn and candyfloss!

Here are some pictures from inside the caravan.

It had central heating, double glazing - Amazing!

We had lovely weather, cold but sunny, every morning at 8.30am these ducks would walk up the road to another caravan up the way and the woman would feed them, so cute!

We went on walks, pickle played on the swings and we went swimming it was so relaxing!

On Mother Day/ My Birthday, pickle made me breakfast and tea and I even managed to finish my pair of socks.

We had Sunday lunch and a game of pool.

 Yes she is wearing heelies

The last 2 pictures are of my and pickle on Mother's Day! I even won £7.50 on bingo!

It was so nice just to spend time together and relaxing.

Well that was my lovely weekend, back to work now!
Catch up soon

Tuesday Thoughs = Hello Spring...

Good Afternoon,

Well today couldn't be anymore less spring if it tried, it's grey, wet and windy, here is the view from my office.Yuk.

However home is a different story, my fabric hearts have been put away for another year, so now it's time for bunnies and Easter eggs.

I love March, I look forward to all the new green leaves springing into life, and flowers popping out of the ground to say hello. It also happens to be my Birthday this coming Sunday (yes the same day as Mother Day).

These bunnies I made last Easter, and over the coming weeks, the Easter things will be finding there way around the house.

On Saturday we popped to a local village called Alfriston, it's so charming, set in the south downs, here is the green with the church.  I just love that we live in the countryside and close to the sea.
here is the main town centre, it's full of small shops to look around, tea rooms serving Afternoon Tea, country pubs with log fires...

Outside the bookshop was this box drop box all made out of wood, it's amazing detail.

Also on the green was this old war mine, pickle find it very interesting.

We stopped for a drink in a little pub, and then made our way home in time for the Rugby match in the afternoon.

A friend of mine had a little baby boy a couple of weeks ago, and I managed to make some little booties, I so wish I had been able to knit, crochet and sew when pickle was a baby, oh well nevermind.

Well, I hope you are having a nice day, Here are some more bright daffadils to cheer you up!

I am having problems with the comments part of my blog any idea, I could see comments the other day now I can't, one of lifes oddies I guess.

Half Term = Happy

Good Afternoon,

Yay I finish work today to spend sometime with my pickle, so looking forward to lazy mornings, not rushing around for next couple of days.

This was pickle last Friday, she wanted her hair curly for school!

I can't believe she will be 10 years old 3 months today! the time has gone by too quickly.

I made us some cupcakes to enjoy while we are off, Coffee, vanilla and Caramel.

It's been cold here in Sussex this week so far, no snow but cold and didn't help that the boiler broke at work so was very cold.

On the needles at the moment I am knitting 2 pairs of socks, the blues are for me and this is the 2nd sock, and the grey are for pickle.

So the plan is to go indoor bowling tomorrow followed by some lunch as pickle has a friend to play and then Friday my mum is popping over which will be lovely to catch up.

Harry Potter is popular in our house at the moment (we are late to the Harry Potter party) we are watching the 2nd film and reading the book. I have found some Harry Potter theme yarn from Norah George on Etsy which I may have to purchase.

Another good discovery was Little Box of Crochet  it's been over Instragram and I have been waiting to subscribe so hopefully this month it will workout, I cannot wait to get one of their little boxes though the post.

Well I hope you are all enjoying February and catch up later in the week.

Tuesday Thoughts - Pancake Day!

Good Afternoon,

After a very windy day yesterday, thankfully all is safe and well here no fences to replace! (we usually end up loosing a fence panel when it's windy).

It's Pancake Day here is the UK, I love pancake day, it's a favourite in our house, it's the only time I make UK pancakes as most of the time I make American style ones as pickle likes them.

So tonight it will be Pancake flipping time, and then top them with Lemon and Sugar, Chocolate and Strawberries or Maple Syrup.  Hubbie can't eat them quick enough.

So I keep mentioning about my 2nd Spice of Life CAL blanket, I am getting there, I am not sure of the colours this time, any thoughts?  I am using al Stylecraft Special DK, I just feel something is missing....

Sorry the photo is blurry hmmm..

I have been making pretty hearts for Valentines, I really enjoyed making them.

We are hoping to get out for a meal on Saturday for Valentines, and just spend time together,
With all the horrible weather recently I am already looking forward to Easter.

I have parents evening tomorrow and hopefully pickle is doing well at school, time seems to being going way to quickly, I can't believe I will be picking Secondary schools at the end of the year.
Well I must get on, hope you all have a good day.

Tuesday's Happy thoughts

Good Afternoon,

Well today is better weather than yesterday..Here it was grey, I couldn't even see the South Downs!

And these are my sunlit Daffadils on my work desk today, such happy flowers they make me smile each time I look at them.

So for me at the moment it's all about sock knitting I have been bitten by the bug, it all started when I came across Christine at Winwick Mum blog, she is such an inspiration. So it started with knitting pickle some buddy elf socks back before christmas they turn out ok but abit short due to time constraints! The yarn is from Norah George and it's hand dyed, I just love her yarn, she has a shop on Etsy.
Now I did post on my first finished sock for me and here is the second one on the needles (Very horrible needles as the wire keeps coming out and had to superglue it back in after losing 3 rows of knitting!) Have since ordered new needles!

And on short circular needles some for pickle, the yarn on both is Sidar Heart and Sole.

I managed to get some sewing in on Sunday, I love my sewing machine, hubbie brought it for Christmas 2014.

I have ordered a Tilly and Button Skirt pattern, which I am hoping the postman will deliver soon, as I have been saving some yummy Liberty fabric for it since last summer.
Here was my Sunday happy place and the little house I sewed, along with the birds for the Spring wreath (see previous post).

And my blanket is still coming along this my view from the sofa into my little basket of yarn, all Stylecraft Special DK.

Well that's it for today, keep well lovely people.

PS I need to find where I have put these Valentines Hearts I made last year hmmmmmmmmmm

Tuesday Thoughts...

Good Morning,

I thought I would share with you, somethings about me today, I am Mum and Wife, I have a little pickle who will be 10 this year, can't believe how the time as gone, it still feels like she was 1 a minute ago.

My hubbie travels to London everyday for work, for which we are grateful for as I know this is very tiring for him.

So this leaves me being the homemaker as well as working.  I love our home, it's a family place filled with love.

So my day starts at about 6.30am, doing lunches and organising for the day ahead, While I potter around my kitchen I enjoy classical music coming out of my little green radio..

Once hubbie has gone on his way..I enjoy a lovely coffee from my machine, I have to start the day with Tea you see, so by about 7.15, I am in need of a coffee fix...
I just love these mugs..
So we then go about our day - school run, Choir for pickle, work for me, however I do love my job and I work in really old building, it was built around 1600s, it's been a post office, workhouse, photo frame shop, coffee shops, home and now Council building.

This is the view from my office window!

Than back home again to start with the evening routine, Dinner making, cleaning, washing, ironing and maybe a sit down inbetween for some knitting...but usually not till later.
This is a neckwarmer I finished for myself last week. It's moss stitch with WI double knit yarn.

Something else about me - I love flowers, I have to have them in the house, at the moment it's Tulips or Daffadils..but this will change with the seasons.

We have a cat called Mittens who is completely mad!

In the last picture she wanted to come to school/work with us!

So that's just a little post about me, hope you didn't mind me sharing with you!
Have a great day!
