A Lovely Weekend...

Good Afternoon,

Well we had the most lovely weekend, it was so relaxing and just what we all needed.

We got a lovely caravan, overlooking the lake so each morning the view was so pretty and we really enjoyed watching the ducks.

Pickle had fun making friends with them, and then they kept following her!

We went for walks around the lake and woods, did swimming both days and I didn't have to cook once yay!

It so lovely to have family time without any distractions, and just spend time together making memories.

We go to a nice caravan park, tucked away in Sussex, not far from us but it's so relaxing and pickle always enjoys just being in the caravan.

I even manage to finish Halloween sock number one!

I finished my pumpkin spice sock last week too.. so pleased.

And yes we have Halloween pumpkins already, hubbie picked them up the other day...

I can't believe pickle finishes for half term on Friday, it seems to be going way to quickly, we had applied for her secondary school, now the long wait to March.

We have had some lovely sunsets lately, here is one from last night, the photo doesn't do it justice as it was much more pinker then this.

I hope you all had a great weekend, and have enjoyed my little post. Thanks for stopping by

Tuesday Thoughts

Good Afternoon,

Been absent again due to illness!, hope everyone is well...

It's colder now and I have to say tights and jumpers are out and being worn, now there is no turning back.

Well managed to finish my new patchwork cushion covers for Autumn..

I am so pleased with them, and they will go perfectly in our lounge.

Mittens the cat has been as cheeky as ever, she has grown so much..

While I was feeling unwell at the weekend, I managed some more rows of my Cupcake blanket, I find this so relaxing as it's only tow different kinds of stitches.

Halloween is coming to the shops at the moment, I don't like all this Clown business going on, I have to say!, which when I read about people jumping out on people, make my worry.

I am looking forward to a breakaway to our favourite spot and seeing this view again soon...
It's time to spend together as a family and relax.

Well I hope you enjoyed my post today and thanks for stopping by

Socks, Socks and More Socks!

Good Afternoon,

Well it's been a windy day here today... I hope everyone is enjoying some autumn sunshine, as I type I am sitting at my desk having a nice cup of tea!

I have over last year or so, become addicted to making socks, mainly due to Christine's book Super Socks, I have increased my yarn stash a fair amount, as I keep seeing so much lovely yarn.

Here are my latest pair off the needles, it's yarn from Norah George . Buddy the Elf

Here are my first 2 pairs, both knitted with Heart and Sole yarn.

I am at the moment knitting a pair with Pumpkin Spice yarn again by Norah George..

I did make some shorter trainer style socks with heart and sole yarn, here is the finished product and Christine book!

For Harry Potter fans, I knitted a pair in Hermonie purple yarn,

I did warn you I am addicted, I have recently purchase some Halloween theme yarn which I need to ball. so photos to come!

I have neglected my sewing machine somewhat recently mainly due to sock knitting! and summer holidays, but as the nights draw in, I have dusted it off and have many plans to make things just not enough hours in my day.. The other night is was nice and bright so I managed to get some cutting done in the garden, I think the light in this photo is pretty

So my Autumn crochet wreath is up and I am looking forward to the coming season.

Hope you enjoyed my sock journey!, thanks for popping by!

Tuesday Thoughts

Good Afternoon,

Well it's been a Autumn day here today, the nights are drawing in, and by 7.30pm it's dark!
I don't actually mind as I really like Autumn, cosy nights and frosty mornings.

At the weekend we embraced the season and made my first Pumpkin Pie this year...

Pickle wanted to bake a Victoria Sandwich with a Autumn theme, so the top is cinnamon caramel and the bottom is Pumpkin Spice.

(Both are Gluten Free)

I have several projects on the go at the moment, I am still knitting my Hitchhiker Shawl which I started back in March.

I am also knitting 2 pairs of socks, which are coming along nicely.  Pumpkin spice yarn on the left and Buddy the Elf yarn on the right, both by Norah George.

And my poor sewing machine has had to be dusted off (been awhile since I last used it) so I can make some patchwork Autumn cushion covers.

Soon it will be my favourite month - October...Halloween, we always have so much fun and have games planned already.

Shh I brought my first Christmas magazine today...I know it's only September but I really don't have any self control when it comes to Christmas!!.

Well I hope you have  good day and thanks for stopping by!

A Strange Weekend

Good Afternoon,

I would like to start with sending Prayers to all involved in the horrific events in Paris on Friday...At a time like this, there is no words just Prayersxx

Saturday dawned grey, wet and windy which was in keeping with the worlds mood.  Pickle had a birthday party at Lewes at 9am, we don't usually get up that early on weekends, but off we went, Pickle had a fab time 2 hours in a large soft play with 60 other children.  On that note Hubbie and Me walked into Lewes, we had a breakfast in Bill's which is a lovely cafe/shop.

I had a coffee and Eggs Benedict which was amazing and Hubbie had a huge pot of tea and a full English breakfast, which was just what we needed before a wet walk around Lewes.

We popped into Harveys Shop which is a favourite of Hubbies, he loves local Ales and we now have a few local breweries in Sussex.
I think I will get one of these for Christmas present from pickle.

I love Lewes it's one of them places that you can just wander around.
Sorry about the light it was a very grey day!

On our way back, we saw this fab house boat.

After collecting a very happy pickle we set off for Brighton, however the traffic was bad, note to anyone if you want to shop in Brighton don't arrive at 11.30!.  So we want to Brighton Marina instead, never been before and with Free Parking it was worth a stop.  We brought a lovely Gingerbread lady and some candles.
We stopped for a drink before heading back, partly to dry out from the rain, the pub had this unsual timber and stone wall staircase.

The rest of the day was relaxing at home in the warm.
Sunday was again wet and windy, great day for crafting..we baked cheese straws, cookies and had a roast beef dinner.
I managed to sew a blind for pickles room - no picture yet. After I relaxed with a glass of red wine and some crochet and sock knitting.

Hope you are all well and stay safe!

Tuesday Thoughts

Good Afternoon,

Well it was hubbie's birthday on Friday, so Taco's was the order for dinner, pickle enjoyed making cards for him and we decorated the house alittle bit, in between the Halloween decorations.

Saturday was a complete wash out for me, so hubbie and pickle had a lovely Father/Daughter day out to Bexhill and Eastbourne shopping.

Sunday I was feeling better, so the planned Saturday meal out was moved to Sunday, we want to a nice country pub not far from home, it was a lovely Autumn day - sunny and bright.
The pub had the log fire on which always makes me happy.

We had a lovely roast dinner with all the trimmings and pickle had cheesie pasta.

I just love the beams and old furntiture, it was a lovely time out.

After lunch we popped to the garden centre...Christmas has already arrived here and I couldn't help buying some treats.  Some dried oranges, cinnamon sticks and a candy cane.

Here is photo of pickle and hubbie by the tree.

Halloween decorations are still going up, here is pickles halloween theme bed lights! not sure I would like green spiders by my head.

So once we got back home, I thought we could finish off our scrapbook that we started a couple of weeks ago, it's been fun putting all the keepsakes from Holidays, Easter and Christmas into this little book.

Then I was not finished there, once bitten by the craft bug you can't stop!, so I brought a skirt from a charity shop sometime ago, but could fit in it! so I removed the waistband, put some elastic in and added a hook and eye...now I have a pretty silk skirt to wear!(sorry picture is abit blurry)

And I managed to make a hairband out of the spare fabric of the waistband, and another orange one for Halloween both for pickle.

So even with Saturday being a wash out, I think I made up for it on Sunday, the weekend was finished off with a cup of tea and Downton Abbey.

Hope you all had a nice weekend!

Weekend Make, Bake and Crochet

Good Afternoon All,

So still feeling unwell, but did manage to enjoy my weekend, even if it was mainly crocheting my Spice of Life Blanket, here is my wool basket ...

Here is my blanket to date, I have just done part 1 of part 5.

I am finding this very relaxing, and just what I need at the moment, I posted recently about being unwell and am waiting tests, my letter came and it's on Halloween, did not enjoy explaining to my pickle that I can't take part in Halloween this year, as I need to be sedated.  So to make up for it, we started decorating the house...

There is much more, but these photos will come soon..we love Halloween in our house, and this year won't be the same. sorry pips feeling sorry for myself today!

As always the weekend can't go by without some baking, here are some cupcakes..pumpkins spice, maple and choc chip and Cranberry and white choc

And a Blueberry roly poly for pudding on Sunday, which want down well in our house.

Friends of mine asked me a few weeks ago to make a headboard cover, I took my time and it's turned out well, just hope it fits!

It was nice to dust off the sewing machine again, I really must make my skirt with the lovely Liberty fabric I brought back in the summer.

On Saturday night it was our towns annual Bonfire Night, pickle went with friends to see it, and the fireworks where really good.  Here she is melting marshmallows..after the parade.

I love Bonfire night, we will buy some fireworks for bonfire night at home in a couple of weeks, I love all the different celebrations in Autumn - Halloween, Bonfire and the best of all Christmas, I have already started planning for the big day.

So it was another restful weekend, trying to relax and enjoy Autumn.

Thanks for your lovely comments and catch up later in the week!

Spooky things in the Kitchen!

Good Afternoon,

Well after a lovely Autumn sunshine last week this one has started wet, not as bad as over in the US, so I am thankful.

As I was under the weather again last week, I did manage to do some baking at the weekend, as this always makes me feel happy.

I baked a bread pudding for hubbie

I don't like it so can't really comment.

Pickle wanted to make some breakfast flavoured cupcakes cakes, so these are Lemon and Blueberry.

For me, a Apple and Blackberry Crumble - favourite!

And there is something spooky starting to happen in my kitchen!!!!

This is the beginning of my Halloween decorations, it really does take me ages as I have so much now, so be prepared for more updates.

Hope to catch up again soon
