Hello it's been awhile.....

Good Afternoon,

It's been crazy busy this last couple of weeks, nothing in particular just life really, I am however enjoying the new sunny weather and am looking forward to the summer months.

I have been doing some sewing at the weekends which is great, as I just love it, here is a cushion cover I have finished.

I did start a dress last Autumn and I have now finished it and I am very pleased with how it turned out.

With all the better weather, we have been doing work in the garden, the other day hubbie found this little fellow, pickle thought it was amazing and we did keephim for a couple of days, but he is now back in the wild!

At May day bank holiday we went out for lunch and on the way back some across some lovely cute spring lambs and this very cute little baby bunny...

Isn't it a cute little bunny!

My wool stash is growing, and I have managed to finish another pair of socks, and have just cast on another pair, I think I am addicted!

Pickle had her school spring concert, I was such a proud mum, she played chasing cars by snow patrol on Guitar and sung with the choir!

Tuesday Thoughts

Good Afternoon,

It's so lovely and sunny here today, I hope it's the same where you are.

The weekend seems to go by way to quickly, I always feel like I need one extra day...Anyway Saturday was not so nice here in Sussex, grey and wet at times, and as I managed to kick the bedroom door Thursday night I was nursing a very purple baby toe!, so rest was in order Saturday and a nice takeaway Saturday night.

Sunday started much nicer, sunny but chilly so we decided to do some work on the garden, Hubbie wanted to cut down one of the conifer trees which was blocking light from the dining room, here is the mass of tree still to get rid of!

Our little Christmas tree will be planted in the garden at some point.

I managed to buy some pretty solar lights this year, I really want it to look nice this year..

Going to paint the fences soon, before it all grows to quickly...I have however uncovered a pretty yellow primrose.

It felt so nice to be outside again, after the winter, I love hearing the birds, watching the butterflies in the garden and seeing pickle play outside.

Other things this past week or so was I brought some skeins of wool, and thought that I could knit straight away....and this is mess I ended up with (pro knitters out there, please don't laugh too much at this school boy error), I have since wind it into a nice neat ball. - After a good few hours.

Mittens has been enjoying the sunshine and has been out in the garden with us at weekend.. she has grown so much and is very cheeky.

On Sunday pickle wanted to make a cake, so here is her Lime and Coconut cake with fresh fruit on top, it's very yummy.

Can't believe our little pickle will be 10 next month, not sure where the time has gone...feels like 5 minutes ago, we walked in the front door back from hospital with her in the car seat.

Pretty bags Thank you Cath Kidston!

Good Afternoon,

So I have been after a Cath Kidston bag for sometime now, and when me and pickle went to Brighton at Easter and visited her shop I wanted to buy everything!

But I managed to get this beauty online, I am one happy girlie...

The little pocket purse/pouch next to it, is my latest sewing goodie, I got the Cath Kidston Sew book sometime ago and have been meaning to start, so last night I managed to complete this in about 2 hours.
The fabric was all pre-cut and came with the book.

This is what it's like inside...

My Bias Binding want abit off, but I am pleased with it, the zip was easy.

So on completing this I now want to make the Travel Pouches, I have some pretty fabric left in the stash so I am going t try to get it done tonight!

Happy St Georges Day!

Good Afternoon,

Happy St Georges day one and all!, that's what my pickle came out with this morning!



So yesterday I picked pickle up from school and when we got home, she wanted to do some baking...
As it was someone in my office has Chickens and they had brought some fresh laid eggs,
Here are the eggs pre baking..

And here are the cupcakes, as you can see their is a St Georges Day, Vanilla with Strawberry and Vanilla Buttercream frosting on top!

After baking, we popped into the garden to see what's growing, and the Wood Pigeon is back in her nest, (she disappeared earlier in the week), there are 3 eggs in the nest, we are lucky with get them every year!

On wondering around the garden, all the time pickle doing cartwheels, she loves being outside, I am across the Magnolia bush has now bloomed, and some other flowers(Sorry gardeners I am completely clueless with gardening) have come out!

On the way home I shall pop into the wine seller and pick up some St George's ale for hubbie,

Happy Weekend!

Good Afternoon,

Well my weekend started very nice, A friend and me went out for dinner at our local Prezzo, which started with a couple of glasses of Prosecco and and a lovely gluten free pizza for me and Roasted Duck leg for my friend.
It was nice to go out and catch up we where the last to leave the restaurant!
On Saturday we did some tidying up and then hubbie, pickle and me caught the train to Lewes, as it' was Record Store day, there is a really great record store in Lewes,  Union Music Store.

They had live bands playing during the day, and Harveys Ale which pleased hubbie very much.. as you can see.

My friends hubbie was also DJ there in the afternoon, so we caught up with him, and then we wondered around Lewes, it's a great place to look around, lots of independent shops and antiques halls.

On Sunday the sun was shining again, so Pickle and me washed our car and mowed the lawn, and then it was bike ride time...

As we walked/cycled we came across this pretty blossom tree and a very pretty pond, I have never noticed before.

And what better way to end the weekend then a cup of Tea and a slice of Banana loaf.

Pretty Places and Easter Makes!

Good Afternoon,

So Easter weekend has come and gone, just like that! The weather on Good Friday was wet and grey on the south coast, so a trip to hobbycraft was in order, we are planning to Decopatch our window ledge in the lounge and dining room and managed to find some nice paper. More update on this to come.

Then it was time the Easter Egg hunt and due to weather this was inside,

And this was what Mittens thought of the whole thing....

And yes that is a tissue box, she has made a bed in.

On Saturday we popped out to Pevensey Bay, which is a pretty seaside town, here are some pictures of the beautiful old buildings..

There is also a really old Norman church and the Castle..

We stopped and had a very lovely pub lunch and it was a lovely finish to the day out.

Sunday was a restful day at home, pickle eating Easter eggs (which we will have around until the summer holidays)

I however got on and made my knickers, I know it's been ages since I received the pretty box with all the items inside but here is the finish product. I really enjoyed making them, they are tricky due to the fine fabric, however I have already purchased more fabric etc to make some more.

And I also managed to make some PJ bottoms for me, I made these in around 3 hours using both Sally the old 1939 singer and my modern day machine for the finishing around the waist and ankles.

It was lovely weather on Monday, so I cut the grass and did some weeding in the garden but I have along way to go with that.

Hello March!

Good Afternoon,

I love March, you get a feel that Spring is coming (which means now I have said that it will snow next week!).

But I do love this month, maybe because it's my birthday and Mother day this month, which I really look forward too,  and also pickle loves to celebrate other people birthday's as much as her own, (even when she doesn't understand that Adults don't always look forward to it in the same way) bless!

So didn't do much this weekend, as still feeling under the weather...

I did however enjoy some sewing on Saturday, I am in the process of making some bunting for pickles bedroom, picture to follow soon..this was using my lovely vintage singer machine yay.

We finished our Spring wreath... what do you think??

Sorry the light in my lounge is not the greatest!

I am still going with my crochet block scarf which is a mixture of Stylecraft DK yarns.

On a trip to Morrisons on Saturday we picked up some pretty potted baby daffidils and primroses which are making the kitchen window look bright.

And of course there was baking... just some vanilla and lemon cupcakes with spring flowers on the top.
