It's Friday!

Good Afternoon,

Well it's Friday! and it's suddenly gone very dark here in Sussex, UK, we had a snow shower yesterday evening but it only lasted a couple of minutes.

I thought I would share some pictures with you that I have managed to download from my Camera Yay!

Here is some pictures of the strange sky's we keep having...

Mittens just keeps getting more and more crazy, I think it's time to let her out this weekend!

I have been crocheting granny squares for the Beware make a Square - for Meningitis Now, here is my latest one!

Hubbie brought me some lovely spring tulips the other day, they made the lounge look more colourful. I am still waiting for daffodil's to arrive in the shops here:((

So shopping is order for tomorrow, I never enjoy the supermarket experience, and I am looking forward to reading the latest Country Living magazine, I enjoyed last months, as it had about Lewes in it, which is close to me and it's such a lovely town to roam around and enjoy variety of independent shops.

I really must get reacquainted with this...
I will keep dreaming of my own craft room,.... maybe one day!

Remember to stay warm this weekend and enjoy it whatever your doing!

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Another weekend over!

Good Afternoon,

I can't believe it's Monday again, where did the weekend go!

I did have photos to post on but I can't find my cable to download them:(((
I will keep the post as it is and have to add pictures laterx

Here are some heart pictures from my phone in the meantime!

We decopatched these last year, I am in the process of making a heart garland for Valentines.

Abit late but here is some snow pictures which I took last week, I do love the snow, but not when I have to go to work in it: ((

Saturday was a very sunny day, just the usual weekend stuff really shopping, housework etc, managed to get pickle out on her scooter if a little while, which was nice.  Out for dinner that night, which made a very nice change.

Sunday, hubbie was not feeling to well, so a easy day at home, Sunday Roast Beef and crafting.
I have to say I love my Dolce Gusto machine, it was a xmas present from Hubbie last Christmas and I use it every day!

Sunday night is my TV night, now that Downton Abbey has finshed (boo), it's been replaced by Call the Midwife and Mr Selfridge, another 2 of my favourite programmes(Yay).

As it was a grey day, I notice that my plant in the kitchen has started to bloom again with pretty pink flowers.

Upto my eyes in paperwork in the office today, looking forward to getting home and relaxing with some knitting.

They keep saying it's going to get colder again by the end of the week, but compared to the US east coast I think we are getting off lightly!

Keep warm where ever you are!

Weird Weather Week!

Good Afternoon,

Well it's been a strange weather week here, we have had rain, hail, sun and even some snow, much to pickles happiness!

At the moment the sun is shining which is so lovely, it makes my office glow!, Here is the view from my office

I am lucky to work in a very old building dating back to around 1800's, it been a workhouse, post office, picture framers and more in between!
As such the building has some lovely old beams and wonky walls and floors, that could probably tell a million stories

Here is the sky at the moment!

On Friday last week, we had Hail storms

And on Tuesday morning we woke up to snow!
Here are some pictures of our Common Pond

The school walk was very exciting for the children making tiny snowballs and playing the in the snow!, it did take slightly longer to get there and all hands where cold on arrival:))
by lunchtime however it was gone, and the rain had arrived.

I really enjoy all seasons each with their own special moments.

I have several projects on the WIP list, squares for a blanket, a cape for me, crochet hand warmers for hubbie, and the patchwork cushion is still waiting to be sewed together, there are just not enough hours in the day!

Take care

A Stormy Night, and a Baking Day!

Good Afternoon Peps,

Well it's been a real stormy week here in Sussex, Wednesday night was so windy and wet, I was up crocheting at 1.30am....  I have started a infinity scarf and at present I am using Stylecraft DK in
Shrimp, love the colour and it was one of my purchases the other week.

I have a real issue with Windy weather, I know it seems silly as I am in house made Brick, but it goes back to my childhood, when my Mum managed a caravan park and we lived in a large caravan for a few years, and windy weather in it was scary, walls bind and the van would move.  Sorry I have bumbled on...

Hubbie took this picture in the early hours after a hail storm, Pickle thought it was snow - bless

Thursday was another wet day but not as windy, on school pick up I was blasted by hail stones, so it was straight home for a large pot of tea for me and Hot chocolate with marshmallow fluff for pickle.

I thought I would use up some of my mincemeat still around from Christmas, so I made some pies...

We had some jazz music on the radio and pickle enjoyed playing with Mittens - who seems to get bigger every single day, and has a love for the bath, even with water in it???Crazy cat!

So we also made some cookies, Cranberry and choc chip, which I have just been eating with a cup of coffee.

Hope you all have a lovely Friday
Thanks for stopping by as always!

Pretty Things....On a January Day!

Good Afternoon,

Last week I got some flowers to cheer the lounge up after taking down the Christmas decorations, here are the sunny looking flowers - Chrysanths they have a little bit of sparkle to them.

I love purple it's one of my favourite colours, I am looking forward to spring when I can fill the house with Daffodil's and Hyacinth flowers.

Some time back my Mum give me some of my Nan's china which used to display in a lovely wooden cabinet in her lounge, I remember looking at it as a child, it seemed magical the way she displayed all her pretty things in the cabinet and my parents saying - Look but do not touch!
Well now I have been trusted with it, and it's display proudly in my wooden cabinet, and everytime I see it I think of her!

And I now find myself saying to Pickle - Look but don't touch!

As I popped out for lunch today, in the brief moment of Sunshine between the rain and hail showers, I walked though the Churchyard and noticed how pretty it looked, with the holly bushes lining the path, in full bloom.

These are just a few pretty things I fancied sharing with you on this January day.
Thanks for visiting and hope to see you again soon.

It's Friday!!!!

Good Afternoon,

And after 1 week back I am glad it's Friday!

It's been horrible weather here in Sussex the last couple of days, grey, wet and now windy (not as bad as Scotland I have to add).

I have been meaning to share with you, this present that my lovely sister got me for Christmas!

It's a lovely ceramic bowl with Michelle's Make and Bake Bowl around the top
I was a very happy girl on Boxing Day!

I intend on using it for some baking this weekend, I fancy a nice family fruit loafx

I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend of making, I am starting a knitting project - a wrap for myself, and I am in the process of making a new cushion cover, which will be faux suede back and patchwork front.

I have really enjoyed being part of the blog community and can't believe how many great people I have come across who like similar things to me, it really nice and makes me happy on these gloomy January days.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Thursday Thoughts!

Hello,

Well it was a very wet school run this morning, the kids seemed to like it, but I don't enjoy going to work in wet clothes( No I don't drive, so just me and my legs take me where I need to go!)

So wellies on and off we went, it so happens I love my wellies:

Once we got there I was looking out for one of pickle friends as I made him some Gluten Free Cupcakes for his birthday as he is Coeliac, I was so happy to see his smiling face.

It's a real mine field to bake Gluten Free and I am 35 years young and I find it difficult but at 9 years old it's tough, even sprinkles have gluten in them :(( but I managed to bake some and decorate without any gluten yaa!

Last night I made my Granny sqaure for the Be aware, make a square blanket donation for Meningitis, here it is in Teal, Petrol and Gold Stylecraft DK.

I haven't used Stylecraft wool before and oh my I just love it, love the colours will be ordering more soon.

As I sit here typing the sun keeps playing hide and seek, I hope it comes out for school run this afternoon.

So have a nice afternoon, and catch up again soon

Be aware, make a square

This is a different post from me, but it's something that's very close to my heart.

As I am friends with Let's knit on FB, I get news feeds and today something popped up,

It's called Be aware, make a square, basically it's a mother who child was struck down with Meningitis, when only 2 weeks old, is doing ok now I would like to add. But she is looking for people to knit or crochet a granny square to become a large blanket for Auction.  The money will go to the Meningitis awareness.

However as I had caught the rare TB Meningitis when I was 6 weeks old, and was ill for quite sometime, I am fine now and did make a full recovery, I am sure you can understand why I have decided to take part.  There was me looking for my next crochet project and it's found me instead.

I have decided to share this with you, as it means alot to me, if you are interested in taking part, then you can find the details on the Be aware, make a square facebook page.

Well it's a grey and wet day here today, so I think sausage and mash for tea some comfort food.  I am going to make some more Chocolate Peppermint Cupcakes for a Coeliac little boy in pickles class as it was his birthday at the weekend.

My First make of 2015!

Good Afternoon,

I would just like to say, a Big Thank You to everyone I have met on here, I really enjoy being part of the blogging community.

As we start the New Year, I am already thinking of the new projects I want to start and share with you all.  I think I would like to do a granny square/Crochet blanket in 2015, as I have seen so many beautiful blankets on here by other bloggers, just got to decide on what colour to do it in, to many choices.

I have already knitted my first thing of 2015, it's name is Olive the Owl, well it was this morning but pickle may of changed it by the time I get home from work.

Here is Olive...

On New Years day, due to the Christmas Cake not turning out as I would of liked, little pickle and me decided to make cupcakes...

We made Chocolate Peppermint, using up the last of the Candy canes for topping, and Champagne and Strawberry Cupcakes..

Here they are.. All Gluten Free.

On Saturday we want to Hobbycraft (one of my favourite shops) Little pickle wanted some card making supplies, and while we where there we found these...

By the end of Sunday, the cat looked like this

...I love Decopatch!

Hope you all have a good day

Thanks again for visiting!
