Tuesday Thoughts...

Hello,

Well half term is here, I can't believe it but here it is all the same, my little pickle is happy as this means no rushing around in the mornings :)

I am looking forward to Halloween on Friday, I have some finishing touches to add to the house, so pictures to follow very soon.........
But in the meantime -Here is a sneaky peek...

Dismembered Fingers..

Little pickle has made a face on the butternut!

Saw some friends yesterday which was very nice to catch up, and see our children playing together so well.

I have managed to complete my first Christmas gift - for my mum, I cannot post a picture as she reads my blog! , now onto scarf for Little Pickle, I got the idea from another blogger - it's a fox scarf so cute, so keep an eye out for the picture soon.

I still cannot believe how warm it is!, I got all the winter clothes out at the beginning of the month with pending thoughts to cold mornings and the need for scarf, gloves, hats etc but still not needed yet, I have a feeling when it does change it will be a shock to everyones system!

Have a nice Tuesday

Friday Feeling!

Good Afternoon!

I am so glad it's Friday, feels like it's been a long week.

As it was hubbies birthday yesterday, we are off for a meal out tonight just the 3 of us, really looking forward to it.

It was also my father in laws 80th yesterday, and the children are getting together over the weekend to celebrate, so I was baking again yesterday, lots of cupcakes - All Gluten Free of course!

Here is a pick of about 2% of them...

So you can see Jaffa Cake, Popcorn, Pumpkin Spice and Salted Caramel..

And sometime ago I made this cute Baby cake toppers from fondant icing which I thought I would share with you all, they would be great for a Baby shower or Christening, I made them for a Bake competition (which ended up being cancelled :(( ).

My love of baking continues..later on today, I shall be making a batch of Cheese Straws, sausage rolls to take with us.

It's been very grey and soggy in Sussex lately but I suppose we have done well considering it's nearly the end of October, only 60 days till Christmas!

Hope you all have a great weekend, thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog.

Granny Square Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday !

I know it's been a couple of days since I posted, but I have been working on several projects for Christmas!

As I explained in a earlier post I love Christmas and am filled with excitement the moment the magazines and gift guides hit the shops, yep Asda, John lewis, Ideal Home, Let's knit, Handmade Christmas I have them all..

It was while flicking though the Let's Knit Christmas edition that I came across a Crochet stocking, using Granny Squares, now being new to the whole knitting, crochet and sewing bug (September last year I couldn't even cast on, much to laugher of my mum and sister while watching me trying too!) but with the help of a friend and you tube I taught myself to do it and have been bitten by the bug now.

Sorry I have gone off track, Granny square stocking, I have never tried to crochet a granny square before as it always looked difficult, However....

Tah Dah....

I know it's not the best but for a first try I am pleased with it.. Just another 21 squares to go..

But I have seen so many lovely granny square blankets, cushions etc in blogland and now I know I can join the fun!

As my thoughts so out to a special friend this afternoon, I am thinking of what to make her..

Everyone take care.

Foggy Autumn Morning

As me and little pickle walked to school this morning, earlier than normal due to Choir practice, it was like walking in a dream, which is how I alway feel when it's foggy...

As I have started to take my camera with me everywhere I managed to snap some pictures, (please keep in mind I am new to this and my photo skills are a work in progress)

The spiders webs look magical when it has the dew on them, and they are everywhere...

As I passed a house there was beautiful red bush in the garden

Hope you like them.

Monday Night Baking - Gluten Free Pumpkin Cupcakes!

So after a busy day at to work, I decided that I would bake something when I got home, think it's a kind of regaining control thing??? my kind of therapy

As a friend of mine got me some Pumpkin Puree ( in a tin), I thought I would give it a go, as I normally steam the fresh pumpkin flesh, drain though sieve etc, but as time was in short supply also, the tin came out of the cupboard....

And I have to say it did cut down the process alot, As I now have to be Gluten Free, I changed the recipe to use Dove Farm Gluten Free SR flour, So recipe:

Makes 12 - 15 cupcakes

Pre heat oven 180c
110g Butter
220g Light or Dark brown soft sugar
2 eggs
100g Pumpkin Puree
225g SR flour (doesn't have to be Gluten free)
1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
125ml Buttermilk or 120ml Milk and add 2tsp of lemon juice
1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract

Cream butter and sugar together, add pumpkin puree and vanilla extract beat again
Add 1 egg at time and beat,
Add spices to flour, beat in 1/3 flour mix and then beat in 1/3 Buttermilk
until all is added
divide between cupcake cases
bake for 20 mins check if still wet bake another 5 mins

Ice with buttercream mixed with Cinnamon and decorate as you desire..
Here are mine
Little pickle enjoyed decorating them and eating them :))

Enjoy!

donkey and lunch???

well my hubbie  wanted to cheer me up, so he  took me and pickle out for lunch, which proved a mission as we couldn't remember where the pub was, from one of our many drives in the east Sussex Countryside..
We found it in the end the brewers arms vine cross.
The staff were so friendly and happy. The tables had wine bottle candles which onva autumn day made it feel warm and comforting....then they lit the fires god I love living in the countryside..

pickle loving the log shove!
I know you wonder about the donkey??... well after a very lovely lunch steak for hubbie, lamb shank for me and eggs benedict for pickle, there was a surprise...a donkey appeared in the bar..

and pickle loving nature

we had a great time

I am thinking not alot as still feeling under the weather, so maybe doing some more of mother in law scarf, finish little pickle halloween dress and day dreaming of having my own craft/sewing room one day...

I vision it to be pale colours with up cycle table and full of pretty things just for me, I keep seeing loads on piniterest, maybe next year!

Windy Autumn Thursday

Well I am sitting in bed knitting on this windy Thursday,as I am unwell at the moment:-(

Even though it's breezy the sun is shining so that's nice, and mittens is enjoying some indoor sun bathing!

I have been thinking about gifts to make for Christmas, I have started my mother in law crochet scarf

I hope she likes the colours I've picked..
In recent weeks I have gone a bit wool crazy and have brought some different yarns then normal, but am excited to get knitting with them.

And the heart in the middle was my recent decopatch creation, I didn't realise I had matched the wool to the heart, surprised myself!

Have a nice windy day

Good Morning pink sky..

When I first woke this morning it was so dark, and then out of nowhere the sky turned an amazing pink...

It was a lovely fresh Autumn morning, that casted a warming glow over the houses in our street,  however this has now changed to grey, wet and windy!

The heating went on for the first time this morning and I feel another slow cook meal coming on this week..Chilli or stew??

Just wanted to share the picture from Sussex, and wish you all a nice Monday.

Autumn walk home

As I walked to collect my Daugther from her friends yesterday evening the Autumn sunlight bouncing on the towns Common Pond looked so pretty, and as it's so warm still the ducks where very happy bobbing on the water...

When I got home I managed to get some pictures of the garden in the Autumn light..
Berries in one of our pots.

The leaves are turning golden and they looked so rustic.

The sky in this picture was so calming, that in between time of day, where daylight is fading and nighttime is about to descend.

Happy Friday!

Hello October!

Well Good Afternoon,

So Hello October as the thought of falling leaves, dark nights and getting ready for Halloween makes me smile and feel fuzzy inside.

Halloween is a big thing in our house, which has come along way from when I was little back then it just involved my mum getting a witches hat and making a dress out of a blackbag. However the love of halloween grow and  I decorate nearly every room with things I have made or collected over the years, and we all get dressed up including hubbie, and either go trick or treating or stay home to wait for little visitors with bowls of sweets..

The pumpkin pie recipe is located and ready to go, I make one for my father in law too, as he love pumpkin pie. As we have about 4 large craved pumpkins I end up with lots of flesh for stews, pies, soup and of course spiced cupcakes(which this year I will be making Gluten-free), I will also need to try to get to grips with Gluten Free pastry wish me luck!

I have seen some great posts on other blogs showing coloured corn so this weekend I shall be visiting our local garden centre in a hunt to find some.

I also trying to find time to start making my daugthers halloween skirt and top outfit, I don't know where my time goes at the moment, can someone please slow it down...

I have managed to finish my crochet lampshade cover, which I am pleased with as I have only been crocheting for alittle while.

At least my boring plain lampshade looks nice in the Autumn colour.

Now to start crocheting Christmas gifts and projects yay!
Have a nice afternoon
