Pretty Things....On a January Day!

Good Afternoon,

Last week I got some flowers to cheer the lounge up after taking down the Christmas decorations, here are the sunny looking flowers - Chrysanths they have a little bit of sparkle to them.

I love purple it's one of my favourite colours, I am looking forward to spring when I can fill the house with Daffodil's and Hyacinth flowers.

Some time back my Mum give me some of my Nan's china which used to display in a lovely wooden cabinet in her lounge, I remember looking at it as a child, it seemed magical the way she displayed all her pretty things in the cabinet and my parents saying - Look but do not touch!
Well now I have been trusted with it, and it's display proudly in my wooden cabinet, and everytime I see it I think of her!

And I now find myself saying to Pickle - Look but don't touch!

As I popped out for lunch today, in the brief moment of Sunshine between the rain and hail showers, I walked though the Churchyard and noticed how pretty it looked, with the holly bushes lining the path, in full bloom.

These are just a few pretty things I fancied sharing with you on this January day.
Thanks for visiting and hope to see you again soon.

It's Friday!!!!

Good Afternoon,

And after 1 week back I am glad it's Friday!

It's been horrible weather here in Sussex the last couple of days, grey, wet and now windy (not as bad as Scotland I have to add).

I have been meaning to share with you, this present that my lovely sister got me for Christmas!

It's a lovely ceramic bowl with Michelle's Make and Bake Bowl around the top
I was a very happy girl on Boxing Day!

I intend on using it for some baking this weekend, I fancy a nice family fruit loafx

I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend of making, I am starting a knitting project - a wrap for myself, and I am in the process of making a new cushion cover, which will be faux suede back and patchwork front.

I have really enjoyed being part of the blog community and can't believe how many great people I have come across who like similar things to me, it really nice and makes me happy on these gloomy January days.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Thursday Thoughts!

Hello,

Well it was a very wet school run this morning, the kids seemed to like it, but I don't enjoy going to work in wet clothes( No I don't drive, so just me and my legs take me where I need to go!)

So wellies on and off we went, it so happens I love my wellies:

Once we got there I was looking out for one of pickle friends as I made him some Gluten Free Cupcakes for his birthday as he is Coeliac, I was so happy to see his smiling face.

It's a real mine field to bake Gluten Free and I am 35 years young and I find it difficult but at 9 years old it's tough, even sprinkles have gluten in them :(( but I managed to bake some and decorate without any gluten yaa!

Last night I made my Granny sqaure for the Be aware, make a square blanket donation for Meningitis, here it is in Teal, Petrol and Gold Stylecraft DK.

I haven't used Stylecraft wool before and oh my I just love it, love the colours will be ordering more soon.

As I sit here typing the sun keeps playing hide and seek, I hope it comes out for school run this afternoon.

So have a nice afternoon, and catch up again soon

Thanks again for visiting my blog

Be aware, make a square

This is a different post from me, but it's something that's very close to my heart.

As I am friends with Let's knit on FB, I get news feeds and today something popped up,

It's called Be aware, make a square, basically it's a mother who child was struck down with Meningitis, when only 2 weeks old, is doing ok now I would like to add. But she is looking for people to knit or crochet a granny square to become a large blanket for Auction.  The money will go to the Meningitis awareness.

However as I had caught the rare TB Meningitis when I was 6 weeks old, and was ill for quite sometime, I am fine now and did make a full recovery, I am sure you can understand why I have decided to take part.  There was me looking for my next crochet project and it's found me instead.

I have decided to share this with you, as it means alot to me, if you are interested in taking part, then you can find the details on the Be aware, make a square facebook page.

Well it's a grey and wet day here today, so I think sausage and mash for tea some comfort food.  I am going to make some more Chocolate Peppermint Cupcakes for a Coeliac little boy in pickles class as it was his birthday at the weekend.

My First make of 2015!

Good Afternoon,

I would just like to say, a Big Thank You to everyone I have met on here, I really enjoy being part of the blogging community.

As we start the New Year, I am already thinking of the new projects I want to start and share with you all.  I think I would like to do a granny square/Crochet blanket in 2015, as I have seen so many beautiful blankets on here by other bloggers, just got to decide on what colour to do it in, to many choices.

I have already knitted my first thing of 2015, it's name is Olive the Owl, well it was this morning but pickle may of changed it by the time I get home from work.

Here is Olive...

On New Years day, due to the Christmas Cake not turning out as I would of liked, little pickle and me decided to make cupcakes...

We made Chocolate Peppermint, using up the last of the Candy canes for topping, and Champagne and Strawberry Cupcakes..

Here they are.. All Gluten Free.

On Saturday we want to Hobbycraft (one of my favourite shops) Little pickle wanted some card making supplies, and while we where there we found these...

By the end of Sunday, the cat looked like this

...I love Decopatch!

Hope you all have a good day

Thanks again for visiting!
