Good Afternoon,
As it was so wet again yesterday, it did turn out to be a relaxing day of crafts and family time.
I am really into sock knitting at the moment, I am slow as I have just mastered the magic loop way of knitting socks, I did try with DPN's to start but felt like I was knitting with a hedgehog!
I have ordered myself some short circular to try next.
I ordered some yummy yarn from Tracy at Norah George it's called Maldives and it's so like the Maldives in colour sea blues and sand yellows.
Well I thought what I really need is a little bag to put my sock projects in...and I needed a excuse to use my new extension table for my sewing machine, which hubbie brought me for Christmas, here is bag in progress.
Sorry about the light but, it's so dark all the time.
And here is the finished bag.
The heart ribbon was a Christmas present from my little pickle!bless her.
I manage to do some more on my 2nd crochet blanket, I just find crochet so relaxing, and it comes along quickly.
Well I am off in minute to meet a friend for coffee.
Have a great day!

Ps so sad to hear the news of David Bowie today RIP.

A New Year!
Good Afternoon,
I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!, I have been gone for alittle time, but back now, and looking forward to sharing my makes and bakes of 2016.
I had a lovely Christmas, spent at home with family and friends, time didn't go too quickly. The weather on the other hand was not festive at all.
Here are some Christmas pictures....
I managed to get Pickles cat finished in time for Christmas, isn't it cute.
My mum brought me these lovely red boots( which I wore on new years eve) and this knitting needle holder with needles.
So... much food was eaten and drinks where drank, and a good time had by all.
Yesterday was clear out day, so everything is now put away for another year, and I have to say it's nice to have the space back, however I will be buying some flowers today to make it brighter.
Now onto my 2nd Spice of Life CAL blanket, I so enjoyed making the 1st one, that I couldn't wait anymore to start another.
Hope everyone is well, and catch up again later in the week.

Here is the gingerbread house we made.
Stocking presents Christmas morning!
I really enjoy boxing day, it's time to slow down and enjoy the festive feeling, here is my cheeseboard!

The post about The Blanket and The Blind!
Good Afternoon,
Well a few weeks back I joined my first CAL, which was organised by Sandra at Cherry Heart. It was my first crochet blanket, but I thought I have to start somewhere..
Well I have to say I really enjoyed it and am looking at making another one already, I ordered the Stylecraft wool pack from Black Sheep Wool.
Here are some pictures of my finished blanket.
Oh how I love it so..
This was when it was WIP
Here is the wool I used, I have some left over so thinking of making a matching cushion.
Did you join in the CAL? I think it's fab that thousand of like minded people from all over the world took part. I learnt so many different stitches and can't wait to start another one.
At the weekend I also managed to make a blind for pickles bedroom, here it is before sewing
And here it is completed and hang up. It's made her room so much warmer. I ordered the fabric from Plush Addict, which was great and delivered to my door.
One thing I will say is I have managed to find Silly Yak pastry block which is Gluten Free and it's perfect for cheeses straws, mince pies etc, I was not looking forward to another Christmas without Cheese straws and sausage rolls. Now I can smile a very happy smile.
Well that's all for now, tonight will be time to soak my fruit to Christmas Puddings.
Take care and keep safe dear friends

This is the 3rd blind of this type I have made, but by far the best due to getting better at sewing over time.
I now have a Seaglass shawl on the go, but I am making it with DK stylecraft from my stash - Raspberry, Parchment and Gold.
I got to try out the dough hooks on my mixer this weekend, I am so not good at kneading bread so they are a god send!,
here is the bread...
It looks lovely but the taste is not so great, I have real issues making Gluten Free bread, it smells yummy and this time it raised in the tin prior to baking but turns to a brick when cooled:(
Any advice bread makers out there?

Weekend Fun!
Good Afternoon,
I had a lovely weekend, it was busy yet relaxing if that makes sense. Which means I managed to get things done but at my own pace.
Friday night was the start of Strictly Come Dancing (you will discover I am a huge fan sorry!) so it was a easy dinner and than a glass of fizz to start the new series off.
Saturday dawned a lovely sunny Autumn day, hubbie and pickle popped up the town which give me a chance for a sneaky cup of tea in bed to start the day.
I managed to get loads of washing done and put pickles summer clothes away and got the winter/autumn clothes out.
I just want to mention something, I know over the last few months, I have posted about feeling poorly, I have been diagnosed with IBS, but am still in pain and am in the process of going for further tests, just wanted to let you know in case you thought goodness she is always poorly!
Anyway onto nicer topics and Saturday night we visited friends for the girls to catch up and the men to watch the Rugby, said friend was very happy with the wrist warmers I made, what was good news.
Sunday was another lovely sunny day, pickle enjoyed getting the garden, I managed to cut some of the last summer blooms
The tree is so full of berries, I love the brightness of the blue sky behind.

As always no weekend goes by without some baking, these are apple and cinnamon cupcakes and chocolate marble cakes, waiting to be iced.
I am so into Roast dinners at the moment, here is our lamb and tatties..
I have joined the Spice of Life CAL, my first one and I am really enjoying it, here is part 2 finished. Can't wait for Tuesday go start the next part.
Will that's it from me for now, hope you all had a nice weekend! thanks so much for the comments and stopping by!

Festival Radio, Spice for Life CAL and Autumn!
Good Morning,
It's lovely and sunny today, which is a nice change from all the wind and rain of the last few days.
Well the Festival is still going, and hubbie is on the radio tonight playing Classic Rock music, you can listen online though this link HailshamFM. So last night was setting the play list!
And on Saturday from 12.00-1.00pm it will be me on the radio, feeling nervous but I am sure it will be fun.
I am slowly getting back into the school run routine, and pickle is back to Guitar lessons and Choir, so it's busy in our house at the moment, hopefully it will calm down soon.
I have joined my first CAL (Crochet A Long) which is being organised by Sandra at Cherry Heart, if you haven't already joined in, than click the link above. It's to make a Spice of Life blanket. I can't wait to get started my wool has arrived!

So excited as Downton Abbey is back on this weekend! and Strictly Come Dancing next weekend, I love this time of year, all my favourite programmes come back on. YAY.
So I baked some cupcakes last night (no pictures yet) they are vanilla and Pumpkin Spice, which means with the left over pumpkin, I feel a Pumpkin pie baking session coming on.hmmm yummy.
The cupcakes are for the radio, hubbie will be taking them in later.
Have a nice day..thanks for stopping by and for all the lovely comments.
