Well Hello there....September!

Good Afternoon,

Ok so it's been ages and I can only apologies, my life has been crazy over the last couple of months and this is why...Last October I got diagnosed with Diverticular Disease and have had good and bad times with it, however from March I was referred to a specialist clinic at Kings College Hospital in London, which is great and I had it under control.

After our holiday to Fuerteventura I suffered a really bad infection (July), and was in hospital and have since seen my consultant, I am about to have a CT scan to see the damage done to my bowel and I am looking at surgery sooner than I thought..which as you can guess came as a shock, however I have picked myself up and now feel positive as it's life changing not life threatening.

However as this has been going on I have sort relaxation by knitting, baking and crochet as well as spending time with my hubbie and pickle who have been a great strength to me.

So I have lots to catch up on with you all, and I hope you are still interested...

These are from holiday in Fuerteventura, which we love.

Mittens has got so big and is cheeky as ever!

We went to Firle Vintage Fair in August and it was amazing, old fair rides, vintage cars, vintage clothes and people dress in vintage clothes, it really was lovely day.

This covers summer hols.. fun in the sun and rainbow cake made by pickle.

These are my Rose City Roller socks

My 2nd Spice of Life blanket, now starting a cupcake pattern blanket...

When I was poorly I made these little square in bright colours, I am not sure what to make them into I have 24 of them...any ideas????

I hope all of you are keeping well and feel rested after the lovely weather have had in August, can't believe we are in September and my pickle is back to school, year 6 my godness time flies.

Tuesday Thoughts!

Good Afternoon,

Well that's August Bank Holiday over with!, Me and pickle went out and about again on Friday, enjoying the last days of summer hols..

We went to Eastbourne via a trip to hobbycraft, which is our favourite shop, we brought some jam covers, cupcake cases and a scrapbook to put photos and keepsakes from Holiday and Summer holiday in, something I haven't done for a long time.

After this we got the bus to town and went to the Pier..

The sun came out which was lovely, and the views from the pier are stunning (well I think so)

This is the Carpet Gardens on the seafront. It's always full of colour all year round.

After a walk on the beach, it was off to Zizzi for lunch. And then some shopping, before getting the bus home again.

Saturday was a bright day, I love the light in our lounge..

This day was spent with family celebrating a 25th wedding anniversary.

Sunday was a quiet day and Monday was wet and windy again, so some crochet was in order and some sewing..Here is a cushion I made for pickles bedroom and my summer dress I have been meaning to start since June! oh well a dress for next summer.

I have posted this last picture so you can see the delicate print.

Fun on a Thursday!

Good Morning,

Well it was my turn to be off with pickle yesterday, so as I don't drive it was local things....

Before that a update..I finished the crab apple jelly and it's turned out really well and smells yummy, just love the colour reminds me of autumn.

So we took it easy yesterday got up had a breakfast of bacon butty -british classic!
then got ready, it was raining again, so raincoat needed.
We went to go bowling, but on arrival at midday next free slot 5.30pm mmm ok booked in for then.
So off to the shops , superdrugs for new nail varnish, toyshop for cool cardz refills and millies which is a lovely clothes shop and a new dress for me yay :))
Lunch at Prezzo - pizza , garlic bread ang gelto.

Then home for rest and back out for bowling, which was great fun.

A Windy day at the Coast..

Good Afternoon,

Well it's not so sunny here in Sussex now!, the rain has been coming down for the last 2 days.

Pickle is out and about today with Daddy and they have been sending me lovelie pictures..

It's very windy....at Bexhill.

They went to the Bexhill Museum..and knowing that I love the TV programme Open All Hours, sent me a picture of Granville's bike!

I wonder where they will go next....

On another note, I popped into my local Tesco this morning to discover a man stacking....tubs of Roses, Quality Street etc..hmmm now I love Christmas, but just not before August Bank Holiday.

And than I popped in the Card shop at lunchtime and yep all the Christmas cards are in and wrapping paper!

I am also in the process of making Crab Apple Jelly..will post more once finished, but it smells so yummy.

A Family Trip to the Beach...

Good Morning,

Ok so it's Monday again and very soggy here in Sussex today!

Well pickle went off to Nanny's and Grandad's last week..they live right on the beach further round in Sussex.

So Friday Hubbie and Me went out for a meal at the local wine bar..I had an open sandwich and olives with a lovely glass of white wine.. he had open sandwich and cucumber bites and local ale.
They had live music on which was nice.

So Saturday dawned sunny and warm, perfect day for a trip to the beach!..Well Nanny's and Grandads! So we set off and so the rest of the South coast had also decided to to go to the beach too...traffic was bad in places but we made it in time for lunch.

It was great to see pickle and she seems to have grown in just a few days..Bless.

After a coffee and sandwich off to the beach hut we want...

It was such fun being at the beach..it went looking for stones and shells, played in the sea and chatted for ages, where was there about 4 hours.

It was lovely to see so many families enjoying the british summertime.

After the beach it was back to mums for a BBQ and a jug of Pimms.

The day was sadden with the news coming from Shoreham Airshow, which is local to us..my heart goes out the familiesxx

Sunday was not such a great day, where was planning to stop off at Hastings but the weather had other plans..so back home to see Mittens and some quiet Sunday crochet.

Summer Holidays 2015

Good Afternoon,

Well there is only a couple of weeks left of Summer holidays here in the UK.

The weather has been hit and miss as usual for our small island...I have to say sorry for being offline over the past few weeks, this is due to trying to manage working full time and summer holiday childcare...

As normal I wake up in mid July in a panic about the 6 weeks, and than at the end think what was I worrying about :))

I have managed to have at least 1 day off a week to spend time with pickle...

Last Friday we went to Brighton for the day, one of our favourite holiday days out!..we went down the Lanes, Choccywoccydoodah, Lego shop, H & M, Cath Kidston and Molton Brown.. and lunch was had at Jamie's Italian which I really love.

This is shop is so great, it's down the Lanes, but everything in it is made out of Chocolate---yummy!

Jamies is great as they offer all their Pasta meals Gluten Free..and the ice cream is so good.

We had some bad weather days, so board games came into play..me and pickle really enjoyed this time. With a glass of fizz for me.

I even managed to find sometime to do some crochet - I am making a granny square blanket for the lounge in the winter.

And finally pickle wanted to make jam.. so blackberry jam in the making!

So Monday we went to Paradise Park and I forgot to take any pictures.. then it was back to work, pickle is visiting Nanny and Grandad at the seaside..

Mittens decided one morning that she wanted to come to work with me!

Days out - Ducklings and pigs!

Good Afternoon,

As the summer holidays are in full swing, just wish the weather was keeping up!

We had a couple of days out....

Couple of weekends back we went to one of our favourite places - Middle Farm, just outside Lewes, we have taken pickle to Middle Farm every year since she was born.

Here are some photos...

The pigs were very happy with their food!

Then we paid a visit to a large local park, it's so lovely and has woods, play area and large duck pond, and of course Ice Creams!

It was lovely see the baby swans and climbing on the tree trunks.

I have finished my crochet socks..pictures to follow this week, and am thinking of starting a crochet blanket - my first ever, so any advice on what the best patterns would be most helpful.

My weekend was not so good as my IBS is really bad at the moment, so missed the sunshine this weekend, hopefully enjoy it this weekend!

A weekend of music and fun!

Good Afternoon,

Can't believe it's Monday, but heyhoo I have had such a lovely weekend!

Friday was a relaxing evening in with hubbie, just chilling out.

Saturday dawned a sunny day abit windy but not too bad, we had a vintage theme market in the town with stalls and music..As part of my job I organise the stallholders and a colleague organises the entertainment, I have to say with the weather on Friday I was concerned however it turned out dry and sunny.

Here are some pictures...

It was great to see people out enjoying the music, pickle wanted to visit the church which was opened this was great and then we went to the wine bar for lunch.

That evening pickle and my friend and her daughter went to watch  - The Take That Experience at the bandstand in Eastbourne, the atmosphere was fab and we where up and dancing under the stars..

It was my first time inside the bandstand and I thought it was so good, looking to visit again soonx

Sunday was a very wet and windy day, perfect for some sewing, here is a little heart I made.

While I was sewing, pickle decided to have a pamper session, toe and finger nails all painted..our little girl is growing up too fast.

I finished the afternoon, with a lovely glass of red wine, listening to some Cuban and New Orleans music watching the rain come down outside..
