Tuesday Thoughts

Good Afternoon,

Been absent again due to illness!, hope everyone is well...

It's colder now and I have to say tights and jumpers are out and being worn, now there is no turning back.

Well managed to finish my new patchwork cushion covers for Autumn..

I am so pleased with them, and they will go perfectly in our lounge.

Mittens the cat has been as cheeky as ever, she has grown so much..

While I was feeling unwell at the weekend, I managed some more rows of my Cupcake blanket, I find this so relaxing as it's only tow different kinds of stitches.

Halloween is coming to the shops at the moment, I don't like all this Clown business going on, I have to say!, which when I read about people jumping out on people, make my worry.

I am looking forward to a breakaway to our favourite spot and seeing this view again soon...
It's time to spend together as a family and relax.

Well I hope you enjoyed my post today and thanks for stopping by

Hello it's been awhile.....

Good Afternoon,

It's been crazy busy this last couple of weeks, nothing in particular just life really, I am however enjoying the new sunny weather and am looking forward to the summer months.

I have been doing some sewing at the weekends which is great, as I just love it, here is a cushion cover I have finished.

I did start a dress last Autumn and I have now finished it and I am very pleased with how it turned out.

With all the better weather, we have been doing work in the garden, the other day hubbie found this little fellow, pickle thought it was amazing and we did keephim for a couple of days, but he is now back in the wild!

At May day bank holiday we went out for lunch and on the way back some across some lovely cute spring lambs and this very cute little baby bunny...

Isn't it a cute little bunny!

My wool stash is growing, and I have managed to finish another pair of socks, and have just cast on another pair, I think I am addicted!

Pickle had her school spring concert, I was such a proud mum, she played chasing cars by snow patrol on Guitar and sung with the choir!
I will leave you with a picture of Mittens with her sun hat on!
Have a nice weekend!

It feels like Spring!

Good Afternoon,

As I sit here typing up this post, I have the window open, the sun is shining and the birds are singing loudly in the trees outside... It feels like spring!

Like I said I spent Sunday decorating the house for Easter this weekend, I am going to make my Simnel cake on Thursday, ready for Good Friday.

Here are some photos from my Easter decorated home...

Here is the Easter tree with pretty eggs I have collected over the years.

2 lots of Daffadils, I just love them, they are such a cheerful flower and very cheap!, I have added bunnies and chicks around them.

Here are 2 baskets full of pretty eggs, chicks and bunnies, the Fabric bunnies I made myself, pickle enjoyed putting these designs together.

These belong to pickle for Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday.

This a little decoration pickle made a couple of years ago now

And below is the oldest Easter decoration a pretty tin box which did come with chocolate eggs in, which are long gone now.

Well I really hope you like the decorations, and that you have a nice Easter.
I can't wait for the long weekend and spending time together.
Have Fun!

A New Year!

Good Afternoon,

I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!, I have been gone for alittle time, but back now, and looking forward to sharing my makes and bakes of 2016.

I had a lovely Christmas, spent at home with family and friends, time didn't go too quickly.  The weather on the other hand was not festive at all.

Here are some Christmas pictures....

This is pickle singing at the Church with the brass band and choir. (she is 3rd from the left.)

Here is the gingerbread house we made.

Stocking presents Christmas morning!

I really enjoy boxing day, it's time to slow down and enjoy the festive feeling, here is my cheeseboard!

I managed to get Pickles cat finished in time for Christmas, isn't it cute.
My mum brought me these lovely red boots( which I wore on new years eve) and this knitting needle holder with needles.

So... much food was eaten and drinks where drank, and a good time had by all.

Yesterday was clear out day, so everything is now put away for another year, and I have to say it's nice to have the space back, however I will be buying some flowers today to make it brighter.
Now onto my 2nd Spice of Life CAL blanket, I so enjoyed making the 1st one, that I couldn't wait anymore to start another.
Hope everyone is well, and catch up again later in the week.

The post about The Blanket and The Blind!

Good Afternoon,

Well a few weeks back I joined my first CAL, which was organised by Sandra at Cherry Heart. It was my first crochet blanket, but I thought I have to start somewhere..

Well I have to say I really enjoyed it and am looking at making another one already, I ordered the Stylecraft wool pack from Black Sheep Wool.

Here are some pictures of my finished blanket.

Oh how I love it so..
This was when it was WIP

Here is the wool I used, I have some left over so thinking of making a matching cushion.

Did you join in the CAL? I think it's fab that thousand of like minded people from all over the world took part.  I learnt so many different stitches and can't wait to start another one.

At the weekend I also managed to make a blind for pickles bedroom, here it is before sewing

And here it is completed and hang up. It's made her room so much warmer.  I ordered the fabric from Plush Addict, which was great and delivered to my door.

This is the 3rd blind of this type I have made, but by far the best due to getting better at sewing over time.

I now have a Seaglass shawl on the go, but I am making it with DK stylecraft from my stash - Raspberry, Parchment and Gold.

I got to try out the dough hooks on my mixer this weekend, I am so not good at kneading bread so they are a god send!,

 here is the bread...
It looks lovely but the taste is not so great, I have real issues making Gluten Free bread, it smells yummy and this time it raised in the tin prior to baking but turns to a brick when cooled:(
Any advice bread makers out there?

One thing I will say is I have managed to find Silly Yak pastry block which is Gluten Free and it's perfect for cheeses straws, mince pies etc, I was not looking forward to another Christmas without Cheese straws and sausage rolls.  Now I can smile a very happy smile.

Well that's all for now, tonight will be time to soak my fruit to Christmas Puddings.

Take care and keep safe dear friends

Tuesday Thoughts

Good Afternoon,

Well it was hubbie's birthday on Friday, so Taco's was the order for dinner, pickle enjoyed making cards for him and we decorated the house alittle bit, in between the Halloween decorations.

Saturday was a complete wash out for me, so hubbie and pickle had a lovely Father/Daughter day out to Bexhill and Eastbourne shopping.

Sunday I was feeling better, so the planned Saturday meal out was moved to Sunday, we want to a nice country pub not far from home, it was a lovely Autumn day - sunny and bright.
The pub had the log fire on which always makes me happy.

We had a lovely roast dinner with all the trimmings and pickle had cheesie pasta.

I just love the beams and old furntiture, it was a lovely time out.

After lunch we popped to the garden centre...Christmas has already arrived here and I couldn't help buying some treats.  Some dried oranges, cinnamon sticks and a candy cane.

Here is photo of pickle and hubbie by the tree.

Halloween decorations are still going up, here is pickles halloween theme bed lights! not sure I would like green spiders by my head.

So once we got back home, I thought we could finish off our scrapbook that we started a couple of weeks ago, it's been fun putting all the keepsakes from Holidays, Easter and Christmas into this little book.

Then I was not finished there, once bitten by the craft bug you can't stop!, so I brought a skirt from a charity shop sometime ago, but could fit in it! so I removed the waistband, put some elastic in and added a hook and eye...now I have a pretty silk skirt to wear!(sorry picture is abit blurry)

And I managed to make a hairband out of the spare fabric of the waistband, and another orange one for Halloween both for pickle.

So even with Saturday being a wash out, I think I made up for it on Sunday, the weekend was finished off with a cup of tea and Downton Abbey.

Hope you all had a nice weekend!

Tuesday Thoughts!

Good Afternoon,

Well that's August Bank Holiday over with!, Me and pickle went out and about again on Friday, enjoying the last days of summer hols..

We went to Eastbourne via a trip to hobbycraft, which is our favourite shop, we brought some jam covers, cupcake cases and a scrapbook to put photos and keepsakes from Holiday and Summer holiday in, something I haven't done for a long time.

After this we got the bus to town and went to the Pier..

The sun came out which was lovely, and the views from the pier are stunning (well I think so)

This is the Carpet Gardens on the seafront. It's always full of colour all year round.

After a walk on the beach, it was off to Zizzi for lunch. And then some shopping, before getting the bus home again.

Saturday was a bright day, I love the light in our lounge..

This day was spent with family celebrating a 25th wedding anniversary.

Sunday was a quiet day and Monday was wet and windy again, so some crochet was in order and some sewing..Here is a cushion I made for pickles bedroom and my summer dress I have been meaning to start since June! oh well a dress for next summer.

I have posted this last picture so you can see the delicate print.

Hope you all had a nice bank holiday!
